OUR BACKGROUND

BIS H CONSTRUCTION LIMITED is a privately- owned organization, which was first pioneered by our Managing Director, Learie Humphrey, whose vision was born from his involvement and experience in similar type work approximately twenty (20) years ago.

This vision by the young energetic Learie Humphrey materialized with him pooling a team of highly experienced professionals together, under an umbrella sharing a common goal, hence the FOUNDATION cornerstone of BIS H.

Today, BIS H compromises of a workforce of approximately 80%, having accumulative experience and background knowledge of over 30 odd years in the marine and construction industry.  Evidence of such experience can be seen where the Company has undertaken and executed jobs of all complexities, spanning both locally and regionally.

During such undertakings, Learie Humphrey played a significant and fundamental role in guiding and ensuring the clients’ needs, deadlines etc., were met, and in some cases, surpassed at all times, while maintaining rigid safety quality measures relevant to each undertaking.

Today, in accordance with change, BIS H has kept a pace with the paradigm by ensuring and instituting an active QA/QC (Quality Advance / Quality Control), Department, thereby guaranteeing that a high standard of work is maintained, fulfilling our clients, needs.

Learie Humphrey’s vision is shared by his family and cascades through his staff, who are reflected by their unflinching commitment.

OUR SERVICES

We as a company, offer the following services:-

1. Build and refurbish residential and commercial buildings.
2. Provision of barges, cranes, pile hammers, tugs, etc.
3. Provision of engineering analysis (estimates, designs, modifications, etc) and 1# above.
4. Repair and refurbish jetties, slipways, mooring landings, structural piles, berth, etc.
5. Supply of maintenance and inspection services (labor force included) for refurbishment of 4 above, e.g., jetties, slipways, etc.
6. Sandblasting and painting of structures both offshore and on land.
7. Fabrication, Installation of both offshore and onshore structures and associated facilities.
8. Installation and Driving Sheet piles, Concrete piles and Tubular steel piles.
9. Construction of Mooring Dolphins and Breasting Dolphins.

With the advent of this new millennium, BIS H Construction Limited aims to be the leader in providing marine and civil construction technology to our clients in accordance with internationally acceptable engineering requirements.

HEALTH & SAFETY

In accordance with our philosophy and vision of a ZERO ACCIDENT tolerance, BIS H has formulated and implemented a Health, Safety & Environmental Management System designed to encourage workers’ participation and adherence.  The system can be broken down as follows:-

1. To train and encourage personnel to make safety a priority in their every day activities.
2. To encourage a near miss reporting culture.
3. To comply with and observe the clients’ safety regulations during the undertaking of the jobs.
4. To ensure that Job Safety Analysis must be carried out before commencement and during the undertakings of the job.
5. To encourage feedback.
6. To adhere to all environmental laws, regulations, etc., ensuring that protection of the environment (Eco Systems etc.), must be protected at all times.
7. To train new personnel in the use of safety equipment, PPE etc. in accordance with Industrial requirements.
8. To share information in accordance with Industry Standards relating to new safety regulations, codes, etc.
9. To prepare / train (certify) personnel in the usage of survival kits and techniques relevant to the appropriate work environment.
10. To ensure that employees are adequately and competently prepared for emergency response to relative, relative to the appropriate workplace.
